How will the change affect me?

Access to myNMSU features will not be affected. The improved myNMSU will have the same general look and features of the current myNMSU, but with a more modern feel. In addition, you will be able to access various other systems like learn.nmsu.edu without having to re-login.  Once you've logged into the improved myNMSU you will be asked to complete two steps; set up a new security question and answer, and reset your myNMSU password. Your myNMSU username and password will automatically become your username and password for the NMSU lab computers, including teach stations.

The new Live@edu e-mail system will have minimal impact on most current e-mail users. If you read your NMSU e-mail messages on an e-mail program such as Outlook, Eudora, or Thunderbird, you can continue to do so but you will need to update your email account settings. For instructions to update your settings click here.  If you would like to put in a work order to have this update done for you please contact 646-1840 or email help@nmsu.edu. There will not be a charge for this update.

All exchange users may need to enter in their myNMSU password when they log into their exchange email. The password reset is a result of the synching of their myNMSU username and password to the improved myNMSU.

What will happen to my e-mails, calendars and address book?

Starting on May 16th your email will begin to be transferred to the improved myNMSU.  Nothing will change for you.  You will still be able to access your email from the improved myNMSU by clicking on the email icon.  During Summer 2011 a notification will be sent to let you know when the new email system is ready for use.  If you have a calendar or address book in the old myNMSU that you would like to use in the improved myNMSU, it will need to be exported and imported into your improved myNMSU account.  If you would like to complete these steps click here for the instructions or contact the ICT Help Desk for assistance, 575-646-1840 | help@nmsu.edu
